Choosing a face lift surgeon is not the same problem as choosing a hair transplant clinic, and this page is built differently because of it.
A hair transplant is largely a clinic-level decision: the technique, the team and the aftercare are organised by the business, and much of the work is delegated to trained staff. A face lift is not. It is one surgeon's operation, planned and performed by that person, and the result follows their judgement about your face. So this is the only ranking on this site that ranks people rather than businesses.
All ten surgeons below practise in Istanbul. Each was checked against his own website before being listed, and where his own site and another source disagreed, this page says so.
Before the list: what Turkish medical titles actually mean
Every surgeon here carries a title — Op. Dr., Doç. Dr., Prof. Dr. — and if you are reading from outside Turkey these are close to meaningless. They are not decorative. Each one is earned differently, and knowing which is which tells you something real.
Dr. — has completed a six-year medical degree. A doctor, not yet a specialist in anything.
Uzm. Dr. (Uzman Doktor) — has completed specialist training on top of the medical degree, typically four to five years in a hospital, and passed the specialty examination. This is the point at which someone becomes a plastic surgeon rather than a doctor.
Op. Dr. (Operatör Doktor) — the same level as Uzm. Dr., used by convention in the surgical disciplines. An Op. Dr. is a fully qualified specialist surgeon. It is not a junior title, and it is the title most practising surgeons in Turkey carry.
Doç. Dr. (Doçent) — Associate Professor. An academic title, assessed centrally by the Turkish Interuniversity Board on the strength of published research, and held in addition to being a specialist.
Prof. Dr. — Professor. The senior academic title, reached after further years and further published work as a Doçent.
Here is the part that matters, and that almost nothing written in English says plainly: the last two are academic ranks, not surgical ones. They record research and teaching, assessed by a board that does not watch anyone operate. A Prof. Dr. has demonstrably published; whether he has performed more face lifts than the Op. Dr. two entries below him is a different question, and one neither the title nor this ranking answers.
Treat the title as a fact you can check, not as a score. The ranking below does not weight it at all.

Two limits worth knowing: his own domain no longer resolves, so this entry rests on his hospital's own page, and his public listing carries only a handful of reviews, which is why he sits last.
Why these scores look low next to the clinic lists
They are on a shorter scale, and the reason is arithmetic rather than judgement.
The formula behind every ranking on this site has four parts: a base score from the Google rating and its review volume, a bonus for accreditations, a bonus for years in operation, and a bonus for a verified second review platform. Two of those four cannot apply to a person.
Accreditation is a facility award. JCI and ISO are granted to hospitals and clinics, against standards about how an organisation runs. An individual surgeon cannot hold either, so this part of the score — worth up to ten points on a clinic page — is permanently zero here, for all ten of them equally.
Years in operation reads a founding year. That is a fact about a business. A surgeon's years in practice is a different thing, rarely published in a form anyone can check, and we do not substitute one for the other.
The practical effect: a surgeon's reachable maximum on this page is about 50, where a clinic's is 67. Never compare a score here with a score on a clinic page. Within this page the comparison holds, because every surgeon is missing the same two components.
Review counts are also far smaller than a clinic's — hundreds rather than thousands — and the formula weighs a rating by how many people stand behind it. That is deliberate, and it is why a surgeon with a perfect average and forty reviews sits below one with 4.5 and eight hundred.
How to check a surgeon yourself
None of this needs special access, and all of it is worth doing before you book travel.
- Check the title on an institution's page, not only on his own. Academic titles are awarded centrally and then published by the university or hospital that employs him. A title that appears only on a personal marketing site, and nowhere institutional, is worth asking about.
- Check that the address matches. A surgeon's public listing sometimes still sits at a practice he has left. Confirm the address you would actually travel to, in writing, before booking anything.
- Check society membership with the society. Turkish Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association membership, or ISAPS, or European board certification, are all held by bodies that keep their own records — the body, not the surgeon's own site, is where a claim is confirmed.
- Ask which operation, by the name he uses for it. Face lift, deep-plane lift, mini lift and midface lift are not interchangeable words, and surgeons here use different ones. The entries below record the wording each surgeon actually publishes.
- Ask who performs each part and where you would be operated on. A surgeon's own clinic, a hospital he visits, and a facility he contracts with are three different answers.
What this page cannot tell you
It reports four things: the public Google rating with the number of reviews behind it, any accreditation on record, an approximate operating history, and whether a second independent rating platform has been captured. That is the whole basis of every score above.
It cannot tell you who is the better surgeon for your face. It cannot tell you what the operation will cost, what technique suits you, or what your result will look like. A high position reflects a public record; it is not a clinical opinion and it is not a recommendation.

- Does a Prof. Dr. make a better face lift surgeon than an Op. Dr.?
- Not necessarily, and the ranking on this page does not assume it. Doçent and Profesör are academic titles awarded for research and teaching, assessed by the Turkish Interuniversity Board — they say a surgeon has published and taught at a certain level, not that they perform more of any one operation. A surgeon carrying Op. Dr. may have done more face lifts than a professor whose academic work lies elsewhere. Treat the title as one checkable fact among several, not as a ranking of skill.
- Why are the scores here lower than on the clinic lists?
- Because two of the formula's four parts cannot apply to a person. The accreditation bonus scores JCI and ISO, which are awarded to facilities — an individual surgeon cannot hold either, so that part is always zero here. The bonus for years in operation reads a business's founding year, which is not the same thing as a surgeon's years in practice. A surgeon's reachable maximum is therefore around 50 rather than 67, and a score on this page should never be compared with a score on a clinic page.
- How do I check a Turkish surgeon's credentials myself?
- Academic titles are awarded centrally and then published by the institution, so a Doçent or Profesör title should appear on the university's or hospital's own staff page — not only on the surgeon's own marketing site. Specialist society membership can be checked with the society itself; European board certification can be checked with the board that issues it. And whichever page you read, check that the practice address on it is the one you would actually be travelling to.
