Questions to ask before paying a deposit
A high position on this list reflects public reputation and credentials — not a guarantee about your individual outcome. Before you commit to any clinic, in Istanbul or elsewhere, it's worth asking:
- Who performs the procedure? Ask by name whether a licensed surgeon carries out the transplant itself, and what role technicians play versus the surgeon.
- What's actually included in the quoted price? Get it in writing — medication, a set number of follow-up visits, and any accommodation or transfer arrangements are easy to assume and easy to leave out.
- Is the accreditation current? JCI and ISO status shown on this page reflects what's on record; ask the clinic to confirm it's still current, and check the accrediting body's own public registry if one exists.
- What happens if something goes wrong? Ask about the clinic's policy on touch-ups, revisions, and who is responsible for complications after you've returned home.
- Who is doing your consultation? A consultation run by a qualified clinician, rather than a sales agent, is worth confirming ahead of time.

What actually drives the price
We don't publish price figures, for the reason given in the FAQ below — but the variables that make one clinic's quote different from another's are worth understanding on their own, whether or not a number is attached to them.
Technique. A clinic may offer more than one extraction and implantation method — FUE, DHI and sapphire FUE are the terms you'll see most often — and which one is being proposed for a given case is one of the things that shapes a quote. Ask which technique you're being quoted, not just what the total is.
Graft count. How many grafts a procedure involves depends on the extent of hair loss and the density being planned for, which is why it's normally settled during a consultation rather than before one. Ask whether you're being quoted a fixed graft count or a price structured around something else — a session or an area, for instance — since the two aren't directly comparable.
Who performs which step. A hair transplant has several distinct steps — extraction, making the recipient-site incisions, and implantation — and clinics divide that work differently. In some clinics a licensed surgeon carries out every step personally; in others, some steps are carried out by staff other than the surgeon. A price alone doesn't tell you which arrangement you're paying for, which is why "who performs the procedure" is worth asking by name, not just in general terms.
What the package includes. A single headline price can cover very different things depending on what's bundled into it. Consultation, medication, a fixed or open-ended number of follow-up visits, airport transfer and accommodation are all items that some clinics fold into one figure and others charge for separately, or don't offer at all. Two quotes that look close on paper can turn out to cover different things once you itemise them.
Follow-up. What happens once you've left Turkey — whether a clinic offers remote check-ins, an in-person revision if the result doesn't meet plan, or neither — is a further cost variable that a single headline number won't show. It's worth asking about before you compare quotes, not after you've chosen one.
None of this tells you what a hair transplant should cost. It's the structure behind why quotes differ, so that when you do compare two of them, you're comparing the same things.
How to verify a clinic's accreditation yourself
You don't have to take our record, or a clinic's own website, as the final word on its accreditation. Both JCI and ISO accreditation can be checked independently, and it's worth doing before either one factors into your decision.
JCI. Joint Commission International maintains a public list of the healthcare organisations it has accredited. A genuinely JCI-accredited clinic — or the hospital or group it's accredited under, if it operates as part of one — should appear on that list; if you can't find either, that's worth raising with the clinic directly.
ISO. An ISO certificate — ISO 9001 for quality management, for example — isn't issued by ISO itself. It's issued by an independent certification body, and the certificate names which one. That certification body keeps its own record of who it has certified, separately from the clinic. Ask the clinic which body issued its certificate, and check with that body rather than relying on the clinic alone.
What to ask for. The name of the accrediting or certifying body, the certificate or accreditation reference number, and the date it was last renewed or is next due — together, those make independent verification possible. A badge or logo on its own doesn't.
Why a badge on a website isn't evidence by itself. Anyone can display an accreditation logo on their own site, and a logo can't be checked against anything by a reader looking only at the page it's displayed on. What can be checked is the accrediting or certifying body's own record — that's the difference between a claim and something you can verify yourself.
